Do any famous people appear in the novel? Who? What are they doing?

Quite a few famous faces do pop up amongst the pages of The Golden Generation. A few examples: Keira Knightley is discussed by Stef and Lothar on the opening pages, Isabella Hervey appears in the first section of the novel, one of the characters encounters Grace and Imogen from Big Brother, and so on. Due to the nature of the places that Stef and Lothar are taking Jack to it’s inevitable. As to what they’re doing, well, you’ll just have to read the novel!
My brother’s friend said he reviewed the novel and there are quite a few Oasis references within it. Is this true? And if so, why?

First of all, we haven’t sent the novel out to be reviewed by anybody so your brother’s friend can’t have seen it unfortunately. We have not permitted anybody to review it as yet.
Secondly, I’ve just had a flick through the novel and there actually are a couple of Oasis references. He’s stumbled across it, but he’s half correct. However, there are only two at most.
As to the reason for this, I guess it just felt appropriate at the juncture that the reference appears, but I am a huge fan of Noel Gallagher. He is, without a shadow of a doubt, a genius. And in my top 5 heroes.
Anybody that doubts his genius simply cannot have heard the line: “You can’t give me the dreams that are mine anyway”. That lyric should be hung above the bedroom door of any kid in the country with aspirations to achieve more than our two tier education system has promised them. And that’s not considering the other great songs and albums he’s produced over the last twelve or so years.
It’s not just Oasis though, Naomi. Music plays a large role throughout the novel as you’ll hopefully come to read......
